None of the teams could win the match and Baroda and Saurashtra teams earned 5 and 3 points, respectively from the drawn match. The match between the teams of Bombay and Gujarat was also held during the same timing from 09-11 February, 1980 and the match was held at Bulsar. The drawn match saw the Bombay team earning 5 points and Gujarat earning 3 points from it. The next match of the zone involved the teams like Baroda and Bombay and the match took place at Baroda from 23-25 February, 1980. The match also remained drawn during the stipulated duration and the match officials awarded the Bombay and Baroda teams 5 and 3 points, respectively for the match. The last of the West Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1979-80 was played between the teams of Gujarat and Maharashtra and the match took place at Nadiad from 23-25 February, 1980. The winner of the match was the Maharashtra team with a margin of 57 runs and the team earned 8 points from the match, as well.
