Ranji Trophy 1974-75, Central Zone League Matches: There were a number of 4 teams played against each other in the Central Zone of the Ranji Trophy, 1974-75 and all the teams were the regular participants in the tournament. The teams included the likes of Vidarbha, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh and they fought with each other very hard for becoming one of the top two teams in the zone. The teams also tried their best to get a chance in the knock out level of the tournament, however; only the teams like Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh became successful to do so from the zone. Ranji Trophy 1974-75, East Zone League Matches: The East Zone in the Ranji Trophy, 1974-75 saw no change in the list of the participating teams, as all the four regular teams took part in this edition of the tournament. The teams included the likes of Bengal, Assam, Bihar and Orissa and they competed against each other in the league matches for claiming the top spot in the zone. According to the rules and regulations of the tournament, the top two teams of each zone got the permission to compete in the knock out level of the tournament and the Bengal and Bihar team were the two teams that got this chance, from the East Zone. Ranji Trophy 1974-75, North Zone League Matches: A number of 6 teams played against each other under the North Zone of the Ranji Trophy, 1974-75 and all the regular teams were coming from the Northern region of India. The teams included the likes of Delhi, Services, Railways, Jammu & Kashmir, Haryana and Punjab and they tried their best to get a chance in the knock out level of the tournament. The teams also tried hard for becoming one of the top two teams in the zone, however, the teams like Delhi and Railways eventually became the toppers in the North Zone. Ranji Trophy 1974-75, South Zone League Matches: The 5 teams that took part under the South Zone in the Ranji Trophy, 1974-75 included the likes of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra, Hyderabad and Kerala. All the teams were representing the Southern region of India in the tournament and they competed in the zonal level for the becoming one of the top two teams in the zone. The teams also competed with each other for securing a birth in the knock out level of the tournament. However, the champion of the previous edition, Karnataka and Hyderabad team eventually became successful to enter into the knock out level of the tournament from the South Zone. Ranji Trophy 1974-75, West Zone League Matches: There was a number of 5 teams participated under the West Zone in the Ranji Trophy, 1974-75 and all the teams were coming from the Western region of India. The participating teams in the West Zone included the likes of Bombay, Baroda, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Saurashtra and all of then had the one and only aim of getting a chance into the knock out level of the tournament. As only the top two teams from a zone was allowed to compete in the knock out level, the teams gave their best efforts to become the toppers in the zone. However, only the Bombay and Maharashtra teams eventually became successful to do so from the West Zone. Ranji Trophy 1974-75, Knock out Matches: The knock out matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1974-75 were played between the top two teams from all the five zones in the tournament. The teams were selected depending upon their performances in the league matches of their respective zones. The teams that got the promotion to compete against each other in the knock out matches included the likes of Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Bengal, Bombay, Bihar, Gujarat, Karnataka, Rajasthan and Hyderabad.
