The Assam team started to participate in the tournament once again from the Ranji Trophy, 1963-64, after missing the previous one. The Bengal and Orissa teams played against each other in the next match of the East Zone at Cuttack from 21-23 December, 1963. The Bengal team got a very good start in the tournament, as they won the match with a huge margin of 10 wickets and also earned 8 points from it. The Bengal team then played against the Assam team in the fourth of the East Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1963-64 at Calcutta from 24-26 December, 1963. The match was drawn during the stipulated period of time and the match officials awarded the Bengal and Assam team 6 and 3 points, respectively for the match.
The fifth of the East Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1963-64 involved the teams of Bihar and Orissa and the match took place at Cuttack from 26-29 December, 1963. The drawn match saw the Orissa team earning 5 points and Bihar team earning 3 points from it. The two most powerful teams of the East Zone, Bengal and Bihar played the last of the East Zone league matches in the Ranji Trophy, 1963-64 at Jamshedpur from 11-13 January, 1964. This match was also drawn during the specified duration and the match officials awarded Bengal team 5 points and Bihar team 3 points for the match.
