Ashwin was born on 17th September 1986 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, and studied at Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan till class 10. For 11th and 12th standard he went to St. Bede's. He completed his engineering course from SSN College of Engineering, Chennai. Recently, on 13th November 2011 he got married to his childhood sweetheart Preethi Narayanan.
