Placed at Chinnavedampatty, Coimbatore - 641006, the college campus sprawls out towards Chinnavedampatti, the northeastern part of Coimbatore city. The college has achieved quite a few awards. It is an ISO 9001:2000 certified institution and accredited `A` Level by National Assessment and accreditation Council (NAAC). Affiliated to Bharathiar University, the college has received approval from the All Indian Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

Covering an area of 6200 sq. ft., the CMS College of Science and Commerce library, "ARIVULAGAM", has a valuable stock of over 27,000 books and also more than one hundred and twenty five journals and magazines, both of national and worldwide fame. At a time the library can accommodate 100 students. Students also can get the benefit of referring to hardback volumes of journals and question papers of University exams. There is also a digital library section which facilitates online access of its huge collection of CDs on wide variety of subjects. Other services include- dispatch of documents, reprographic facility and current consciousness facility. A separate Library for Institute of Management Studies, houses more than 3874 books and over 100 National and international journals and magazines.

The advanced laboratories with all updated equipments and stylish instruments of international standards benefit the students to a great extent. These include Biotechnology Laboratory, Microbiology Laboratory, Bioinformatics Laboratory, Biochemistry Laboratory, Electronics Laboratory, Catering Science Laboratory. The Computer Laboratory is thronged with six independent air-conditioning machines; high-end servers with RAID and Hot Swap facility; branded computer systems with GHz based speedy Pentium Xeon, Dual core and IV processors; Inter and Intra network using CISCO, Intel, HCL and NET GEAR switches; Windows, UNIX and Linux platform operating systems with updated software. There is also an updated English Language Laboratory, that is centrally air-conditioned and equipped with modern equipments, including audio-video text graphics modes, numerous high tech gadgets. Separate hostels for men and women with Gym, indoor and outdoor games is also present.

The hostels of CMS College of Science and Commerce offer a friendly atmosphere for the students to pursue their studies. Good and healthy food also gives them the feel of home.

Apart from studies, students of CMS College of Science and Commerce are motivated to take part in extracurricular activities. Various clubs have been formed to provide ample scope for nurturing their creative skills. OISCA International, an organisation promoting awareness about environment, is also functional within the college. Literary and art forum explores artistic talents in various fields like drawing, music, dancing and writing. The faculty training makes them suitable for taking part in competitions that are held at intercollegiate levels.

The Science Club of CMS College of Science and Commerce also inculcates a scientific frame of mind amongst its students. Other clubs like Junior Jaycee wing, Youth Red Cross, Nature Club, Debate Club, Tamil Mandram, Language association are doing great jobs.

In order to remain fit, sports is given due emphasis. The college also provides special incentives and concessions, so that the students can wholeheartedly participate in sports events. There is a well-equipped gymnasium with modern facilities. A huge football field, volleyball and basketball hard courts are also present. The cricket pitch and well-preserved tracks also are significant. Acknowledging its contribution, few awards have been bestowed upon CMS College of Science and Commerce. NAAC awarded it with `A` grade Level in May 2005. It is also an ISO 9001:2000 Certified institution that was given in April 2004. It is also recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) granted the approval to start the MCA course on 11th September 1995 and also MBA course on 31st March 1994.
