It is also famous for adventure sports like paragliding, parasailing and microcline flights. There is an unpaved road winding throughout coconut groves leading to the beach. The beach is about 5 kilometres long and curves in a wide area providing a good sight of Kannur on the north. The beach is bordered by black rocks, which also look after it from the stronger presents of the ocean.

The Muzhappilangad Beach is a beach of Kerala in south-western India. It is situated parallel to National Highway 66 between Thalassery and Kannur. It is 12 kilometres from Thalassery.

Attractions of Muzhappilangad Beach
It is one of the main tourist attractions in the district of Kannur in Kerala. Some of the popular attractions of Muzhappilangad Beach are as follows:

Dharmadam Island: Dharmadam Island is a few 100 meters away from the southern end of Muzhappilangad beach. Dharmadam Island is a tourist destination. Government pay for the Island from the local family that possessed it for generations. This island is covered with coconut palms. Consent is mandatory to land on the island. Dharmadam was known earlier as Dharmapattanam which was a Buddhist stronghold.

Sree Koormba Temple: The Muzhappilangad is famous locally as the place of Sree Koormba Temple. The three day celebration is held in March every year here. The best part of this festival is the prolonged parade carrying a sacred brass vessel.

There is also a beach festival which is celebrated in the month of April and it is one of the vital tourist attractions in the district of Kannur in Kerala. Other attractions consist of water sports, power boating or a simple catamaran ride.

The Nearest railway station is Kannur which is about 16 kilometres. Nearest airport is Calicut International Airport which is about 102 kilometres. The Muzhappilangad beach is 1 kilometre west of Kannur- Thalassery highway. Distance to the nearest town of Kannur is around 15 kilometres.
