Anil Kumar is a well known Indian discus thrower and his personal best throw is 64.37 metres, which he attained in Szombathely in World Games 2007 in Szombathely, Hungary. Anil Kumar was born on 20th June 1975. He was among the Indian Athletes who shone in Asia. He won silver in the 1998 Asian Games and four years later he won bronze in the Busan Asiad.

Anil Kumar has participated in the Asian games of the year 1998 held at Bangkok, Thailand and he finished at the 2nd position in Discus throwing.
In the Asian Championship, held in the year of 2000, at Djakarta, Indonesia he finished with the 1st position.
Anil Kumar has also taken part in the 2002 Asian games held at Busan, South Korea and came at 3rd position.
He has participated in the Asian championships held at Manila, Philippines in the year of 2003 and finished at 3rd position.
He has also participated in the 2005 Asian Championships held in Incheon, South Korea and came at the 3rd position.
In the same year, he took part in the Afro-Asian Games held in Hyderabad where he received the 1st prize.
Anil Kumar has also taken part in Olympic Games in 2004.
Shockingly in 2007, Anil Kumar was found at fault for consuming ‘norandrosterone’ doping. At the 2005 Asian Championships in Incheon, the sample of ‘norandrosterone’ doping, was delivered in the competition for test. He was found guilty and suspended by IAAF (The International Association of Athletics Federations) from September 2005 to September 2007. He was also disqualified from the competition where he had won a bronze medal in the beginning.
Anil Kumar did make an attempt to come back but age had without a doubt caught up with him and as the distance of the discuss throws of his grew shorter.
