They have also brought a lot of glory and happiness to their countrymen. Indian Squash players have always been counted among the top ones in the world

Indian Squash players have been performing well in the international tournaments for a long period. They have won many trophies in the prestigious tournaments and a number of them are ranked in the top 50 in the world. Some of the most notable and successful Indian Squash players include K.S. Jain, Sourav Ghoshal, Bhuvaneshwari Kumari, Dipika Pallikal and Ritwik Bhattacharya.

K.S. Jain was the first squash player to be given the Arjuna Award (in 1962) and Bhuvaneshwari Kumari, a noted female squash player, won both the Padma Shri and the Arjuna Award for her achievements in squash. Five time National Squash Championship winner Ritwik Bhattacharya is a contemporary squash professional who was ranked 57th in the world in the year 2005 and has made a mark in several international tournaments. Saurav Ghoshal, another contemporary squash exponent, was ranked 23rd as of 2011, and is rising star in the world of Indian squash.
