IIMs in India are premier institutions creating professionals to manage the business administration of the country .

The education system of India is of three - tier system encompassing primary, secondary and the tertiary level. In 1973, IIM Bangalore was established. IIM Calcutta (IIMC) was set up in association with Alfred P. Sloan School of Management. IIM, Lucknow (IIML) originated in the year 1981. The fifth Indian Institute of Management was established in Kozhikode (IIMK) under the guidance by the government of India and the state government of Kerela. Indian institute of Management, Indore (IIMI) is a very new established providing management training to the students opting for degree in business administration.

IIMs in India are prominent institutions as they provide practical approach and modern facilities to the students. The institutes aim at engaging well-qualified and experienced faculties. There getting educated in an IIM can be an experience for quality management education in India. Moreover, these institutions receive financial assistance and in addition to that the placement and packages offered are considered to be best among the business schools of the country.
