The College was started in the year 1961 with mere 77 students. The institute got affiliation with the Mumbai University for a single degree course- B.Com with just 77 students. Gradually courses like M.Com (with specialization in Accountancy), B.Com (vocational), BMS and few other diploma courses were added.

USP of the college:
Aakarshan is the inter-collegiate festival hosted by the college during the month of December. The Economics Convention has gained popularity both within the country as well as Internationally. It started out as an activity for students of Economics alone, but the popularity has spread overseas too.
