University of Kashmir, Hazratbal
The University of Kashmir situated at Hazratbal and was established in 1969.

The University of Kashmir was set up in 1969. It was formerly a part of the University of Jammu. It is situated at Hazratbal, which is 7 km. from Srinagar.

Covering an area of 250 acres, the University teaches various subjects under the Faculty of Arts, Languages, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Education, Commerce, Law, Medicine, Dental Surgery, Engineering, Music and Fine Arts and Non-formal Education. It offers courses for undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students. The campus also consists of a hostel, and mosque, cafeteria, post office and convocation hall. The University has a well-equipped library, which fulfills the academic and research needs of the scholars, students and teachers of Jammu and Kashmir.
