Treatment of Kidney DisordersThe kidney disorders are quite common in human beings. Various alternative medicinal methods are followed for treatment of kidney disorders. The treatment usually varies depending on the types. Most types of kidney disorders are curable if detected at an early stage. It is found that the earlier kidney or urinary disease is recognised, the more likely it is to be treated. Sometimes, treating the causative diseases like Diabetes Mellitus or Hypertension helps a lot to get relief from complications of kidney diseases. The most commonly used alternative treatment methods for kidney disorders include Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, Naturopathy, etc. Apart from these, people also follow various dietary restrictions and changes in lifestyle are also advised.

Ayurveda provides an effective treatment for kidney disorders. According to Ayurveda, the kidneys are made up of the "Rakta" and "Meda" dhatus and treating these two dhatus is an effective way to treat the kidneys. The Ayurvedic treatment is mainly based on three principles like treating the damaged kidneys; treating the body tissues that make up the kidneys and also treating the known cause. Ayurveda repairs the damage done to the kidneys by using the medicines like Punarnavadi Guggulu, Gokshuradi Guggulu, Gomutra Haritaki, Chandraprabha Vati, Punarnavadi Qadha, etc. Apart from these, the other medicines like Patol, Saariva, Patha, Musta, Kutki, Chirayta, Guduchi, Chandan, Shunthi, etc. are also used for treating kidney disorders. Herbal medicines, like, Punarnava, Gokshur, Haritaki, Neem, Daruharidra, etc can also be useful. The other traditional medicine, homoeopathy, provides effective treatment in every stage of kidney disorders.

Sometimes, various dietary restrictions are advised during treatment of kidney disorders. The patients are often advised to eat a well-balanced, high-fiber diet with adequate amounts of clean, lean protein and plenty of yellow and green vegetables. The fruits like asparagus, parsley, watercress, celery, watermelon, etc. are capable of cleaning the entire urinary tract and hence, eating them can help in treatment of kidney disorders. The natural unsweetened cranberry juice can acidify the urine, destroy bacteria and promote healing and also help in curing kidney problems. Sometimes, the patients are suggested to avoid eating excessively rich and spicy foods and also the animal proteins. All these substances can create difficulties for kidneys to function normally. The patients are also prescribed to increase water intake, as it can help in the treatment of kidney disorders in the long run.

There are also certain herbs used quite frequently for effective treatment of kidney diseases. These herbs include Dandelion, Horsetail, Marshmallow, Oregon grape, Parsley, Uva ursi, etc. The Uva ursi is a useful diuretic herb that contains antibiotic and mild astringent properties. It is quite helpful in cleaning the urinary tract and has been used effectively against both kidney stones and urinary tract infections, for several years. Apart from the herbal treatment, various Yogic Asanas are also helpful in curing kidney disorders. The Yogic Asanas are mainly practised to treat the causative diseases of kidney disorders, like Diabetes or Hypertension.

However, the above mentioned alternative medicinal methods are quite effective in treating kidney disorders, it is always better to take preventive actions rather than opting for curative measures. The preventive measures for kidney disorders include taking a well-balanced low protein diet, controlling the causative diseases of kidney disorders like diabetes and high blood pressure, etc.
