Nimbu Sherbet, Indian Sherbet

Nimbu Sherbet is a refreshing Indian Sherbet in the summer which refreshes and gives instant energy. Limes are known as ‘nimbu’ in India. When lime is combined with some herbs and spices like cumin powder, chat masala and black salt; it act as a coolant to the body. In the northern states of India, ‘nimbu sherbet’ is also known as ‘shikanji’ or ‘shikanjvi’ and ‘lemonade’ in English.
Ingredients for Nimbu Pani:
Lemons - 4 (1 sliced for garnishing)
Fresh Mint Springs - 4 to 5
Sugar - to taste
Salt - a pinch
Cumin Seeds Powder - a pinch
Water - 3 glasses chilled water , 1 glass normal room temperature
Ice cubes
Method:
1. Take a large Jug; add one glass of normal water to it.
2. Now add sugar and stir till it dissolves into the water nicely and completely.
3. Squeeze all lemons and add the juice to the same jug.
4. Add pinch of salt and cumin seeds powder to it and continue to stir.
5. Now add chilled water and crushed ice to the jug and stir again. Add in few mint leaves to it too.
6. Serve in chilled glasses garnished with lemon slices and mint sprigs.
