Duldul Horse is a toy, which is made out of clothes. This toy is sold during the Muharram festival of the Muslim community. Generally, Duldul Horses are made with a height of 30-45 cm and they are mainly produced in the areas of Andal in Bardhaman District, Panchla locality of and Joynagar-Majilpur of South 24 Parganas District.
Formation of Duldul Horse
First a framework of bamboo slips is packed with straw, jute and sand and then it is covered with clothes of black colour to form the body of the horse. After that, the horse is decorated with coloured papers like black, red, white and green, which are embroidered with golden or silver threads.
