The seeds of this useful species of Cucumis Melo are described as cooling, edible, nutritive and diuretic, and are used in painful micturition and suppression of urine. 2 drachms of the seeds rubbed into a pulp with water, are given alone or in combination with salt and Kanjika.
The seeds of Cucumis sativa (Khira) and Benincasa cerifera (Kushmanda) are also used as diuretics like those of Cucumis utilissimus.
