The Durva Ganapati Vrata is conducted on the day of Vinayaka Chaturthi (Ganesha Chaturthi). It is also conducted when the Chaturthi tithi falls on Sunday. The ritual needs to be continued for a month with 16-folded worship. Lord Ganesha is offered six sweet balls or modaka and six blades of durva grass with six prostrations on each day.
