 The Thangasseri beach is located at a distance of five kilometers from Kollam. Steeped in history, the beach was the favourite of the Portuguese, Dutch and the British. The beach stretches for three kilometers and bears the remnants of the Thangasseri Fort and churches built in the eighteenth century. The prime attraction of the beach is the lighthouse, which is located at a height of one hundred and forty four kilometers.
