Located in the Hadoti region of the Jhalawar district in the state of Rajasthan, the Gagron Fort is a hill and water fort in the state. The architecture of the fort is one of 12 kinds of Vedic fort architecture known as Jal Durg.
During June 2013, the fort was included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site list during the 37th meeting of the World Heritage Committee in Phnom Penh. The Gagron Fort was recognized as a serial cultural property and examples of Rajput military hill architecture. Outside the fort premises is a mausoleum of Sufi Saint Mitthe Shah venue for an annual colourful fair held during the month of Muharram. There is also a monastery of Saint Pipaji across the confluence.

The Jhalawar city railway station is the closest at a distance of about 10 km from the fort and the Kota Airport is the nearest at a distance of 88 km from the Gagron Fort.
