Located in Varanasi on the banks of the Ganga River, the Chet Singh Ghat is situated between the popular Dasashwamedh and Assi Ghat. It is a historically fortified ghat, whose name has been derived from the palace of Raja Chet Singh. In 1781, the Chet Singh Ghat witnessed the fierce battle between the troops of Warren Hastings and Chet Singh, who was the eldest son of Raja Balwant Singh.
The ghat also had three Lord Shiva temples from the 18th century AD and till the first half of the 20th century, it was culturally quite important to host the famous 7 day long festival called Budhwa Mangal.
