Indian Jewellery is liked by all over world for its craftsmanship.Indian Jewellery in its every form, be it Gold, diamonds, silver, sterling silver, precious stones and semi-precious stones is a rage all over the world. The range of jewellery in India varies from religious to purely aesthetic types. Jewellery is crafted not only for humans but also for the Gods.

 
Types of Indian Jewellery
There are many types of Indian jewellry that are available all over India. These jewelry are admired for its wonderful artistry and craftsmanship.Different regions of India have jewellry making styles unique to them. Orissa and Andhra Pradesh are famous for fine filigree designs in silver, Jaipur is known for its enamel work, Meenakari temple jewelry is part of Nagercoil, while the kundan work with other precious and semi precious stones embedded in gold are from Delhi. Indian jewelry range could be categorized as temple, spiritual and bridal. All these three types of jewelry were embellished with colored stones to highlight the designs.

 
Ancient Indian Jewellery
Jewellery manifests itself in many forms. Be it the gold, beaded or even jewellery made from gemstones in the modern or in the ancient forms, jewellery has got its own class and it adds a very different glamour to the person.In ancient India, people fashioned jewellery out of natural materials found in abundance all over the country-seeds, feathers, leaves, berries, fruits, flowers, animal bones, claws and teeth. Even today such type of jewellry is used by the different tribal people.

 
Indian Jewellery in Moghul Period
The advent of Moghul rule further embellished Indian jewellery.The synthesis of Hindu and Muslim forms and patterns resulted in a great outburst of ornamentation, elegant and exquisite, and of a lush extravagance never seen before. The visual evidence for Moghul jewellery at first entirely depended on the paintings executed for the third emperor, Akbar, mostly dating from the last two decades of his reign. The Indian Jewellery line uses motifs and themes from the Moghul period, but the jewellery is created for contemporary wear.

 
 
South Indian Jewellery
The design and pattern of jewellery would vary from region to region. South Indian jewellery is essentially made from gold and is quite flamboyant, whereas, jewellery from the northern regions of India are simplistic. The earliest representations of jewellery in South India were found in the mural paintings of the Tiruvambadi shrine in the Shri Padmanabhasvami temple, Trivandrum.

 
Tribal jewellery of Rajasthan
Rajasthan is famous for gold and silver ornaments especially silver ornaments have taken a remarkable place in Indian jewellery. All of these have ethnic and exquisite look. Each part of Rajasthan is well known for its own distinct style of silver jewellery.

He sold it and sailed off to America, after he lost his kingdom, comprising Naples and Spain.It is important to include the Polar Star in a collection of famous Indian diamonds only for its singular beauty, although little is known about the history of this gem.
