The extremely talented actress Supriya Pilgaonkar has made a mark in both the Marathi as well as Bollywood film industry. She is often known to the audiences by her screen name Supriya and is a very popular name in the circuit of Marathi movie and plays. She catapulted to fame with the character portrayal of a harried daughter-in-law in the extremely popular Indian television comedy series titled `Tu Tu Main Main`.

Moving away from the traditional Indian soaps this actor has tried to exploit her genius in a genre, which the women folk could not carve out a niche for themselves. In the soap `Tu Tu Main Main` she essays the role of a `nak chadi` daughter-in-law who is always at loggerheads with her mother-in-law. Supriya Pilgaonkar is also seen in the sequel of the same show titled as `Kadvee Khathhi Meethi` in which she essays both the role of daughter-in-law and mother-in-llaw and getting sandwiched between the two does not know whether to dictate or hear their tantrums.

On the personal front Supriya Pilgaonkar has tied the knot with the popular Bollwyood actor Sachin Pilgaonkar. She met him on the sets of their first film where Sachin was the director. By the end of the film Sachin had proposed marriage and she accepted the proposal. They are happily married for over 20 years and have a daughter called Shreya.

Together the couple also won the celebrity dance shows `Nach Baliye` in its first session. This great actress is yet to go a long way before she stands out in the genre of comedy among the other female competitors of hers like Archana Puran Singh and Reema Lagoo.
