Rakhi Tandon, the young and chirpy actress has made a mark in the world of television by her character portrayal of Sweetie in the popular Balaji soap `Hum Paanch`. This young actress from the tinsel town has always been interested in acting and so she went on to follow her dreams. The former model and the sister-in-law of the ex- Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon dropped out of college to accommodate her acting career. She may provide a laugh riot to the audience of the small screen by her histrionics but the way to reach that position was through a valley of tears. She remarked in an interview that her father who was her oxygen did not speak to her more that one year because of her decision to join the glam world. But her subsequent success as a popular businesswoman (producer of `Heena` and `Dulhan`) melted him down and now he feels proud of his daughter. She also claims that her production house R.T. Entertainment is also a very well structured set up comprising executive producers, directors and production people.

She is extremely happy working with Ekta Kapoor and asserts the fact that she knows exactly what she makes and for whom. She goes on to say that `Hum Paanch II` which had been on air recently is a complete comedy. It is a hilarious show and Rakhi portrays the character of a completely cynical character who accosts every man who comes to her door, be it the washer man, the milkman or the sweeper with the question "Will you marry me?".

On the personal Rakhi Tandon is extremely fun loving and vivacious by nature. Apart from acting she is also interested in films. She has also started acting training classes, which is also doing quite well. The Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan has always top her list of inspiration in acting. She is also involved with many social activities but does not prefer talking about it much. She is biased acting in films or televisions because she believes that both imparts a strong message and if made in an effective manner will definitely have some kind of influence on the viewers. At present she is also working on three films with top-notch directors. Two of them are comedies and one is serious but she prefers not to comment on it right now, as she is very superstitious.
