Anthropologists have claimed that Kondareddis tribes is one of the ancient communities who reside in Kerala.

The heartland of kerala is thronged with quite a number of tribal communities, amongst which the name of Kondareddis deserves worth mentioning. These Kondareddis is one of the ancient primitive tribal communities of the Indian subcontinent. The word Kondareddis has got an etymological significance. It signifies the person who rules over the hilly region. Truly these Kondareddis tribes have built their villages at the top of most of the hills and plateaus.
