Javed Jaffrey

Javed Jaffrey, the outstanding Indian comedian was born on 4th December, 1970. He first shot to fame with his Maggi Tomato Ketchup commercial of which he was a part in the period of the 1990s. He is the son of Syed Jawaher Ali Jaffrey and was born and brought up in Mumbai. By religion he is a Shia Muslim. He is believed to be a brilliant actor who has not got his due in the Indian Film Industry. But that did not stop him for carving out a niche for himself in the hearts of the audiences both in the small screen and silver screen. The actor has an inborn comic flair. Two years back he had rocked the whole nation with his `crocodile dundee avtaar` in the Bollywood blockbuster `Salaam Namaste`.

This great actor made his debut in films by playing a negative character in the Bollywood flick `Meri Jung`. And the other negative role he portrayed was in the movie `Boom`. He thoroughly enjoyed doing that role because that role not only excited him as an actor but also made him win many accolades. He claims that an actor cannot be playing only positive or negative roles. His intention is to play lead roles whether they are positive or negative or funny does not matter at all. Javed Jaffrey has proved his multi-faceted skills time and again. In the movie called `Bombay Boys` he had not only given his best shot performance wise but also sang a song on a situation, which was very interesting. He also choreographed the song. In `Salaam Namste` he has shown his audience his mettle as a serious actor. The intense and grave situations of the film that were brought out by him added an extra zing to the whole movie. Again `Dhamaal` which released this year he plays the character of a dumb guy whose silly acts tickled the funny bone of the audience.

Javed Jaffrey In an offbeat film like `Forest` Javed Jaffrey will again be seen playing the lead role. It is a dark thriller and a film based on relationships. There is a man-eating leopard somewhere in the background and he claims that the film makes environmental statements. He asserts the film is very well written and he will have a performance-oriented role. Inspite of doing few films he is not bothered about the quantity. What he is concerned about is the rich stuff he gets to do because he likes interesting characters and flows with the current wherever it takes him. That also made him win his first IIFA Award for best comic role in `Salaam Namaste` in the year 2006. He also hosts the dance show `Boogie Woogie` on Sony Entertainment Television along with Naved Jaffrey and Ravi Behl. Along with this he also anchored a number of musical programmes titled `Timex Timepass` playing various characters. He also dubbs the contemporary commentary that has been used in the famous Japanese show `Takeshi`s Castle` on Pogo TV. He is also planning to get into film production in the near future. On the personal front also he is a very happy soul. He is married to Habiba and is the proud father of two kids. His brans of comedy is admired and appreciated by the young and old alike. His huge fan following sincerely wishes, that the actor walk long miles in the coming future to become the unbeatable `king of comedy`. Here is wishing him all the best for his future endeavors.
