This female Indian hockey player, Helen Mary Innocent has made her international debut in the testseries against Germany

Helen Mary Innocent was born on March 14, 1977 in Kerala. She is a female field hockey goalkeeper of Indian National Hockey team. Helen Mary Innocent has made her international debut for her native country in 1992 in the test series against Germany. In 2003 she saved two penalty strokes in final tie-breaker to win title for India at the Afro-Asian Games in Hyderabad.

The tournament which she has played for India through out her professsional career are:
  • Played Indira Gandhi Gold Cup held at New Delhi in the year 1996.
  • World Cup Qualifier held at Harare where India finished at 4th position in the year 1996.
  • World Cup held at Utrecht in the year 1998, Indian finished at the 12th position.
  • Commonwealth Games held at Kuala Lumpur in the year 1998. India ended up in the tournament at the position of 4th.
  • At Bangkok India participated in the Asian Games in the year 1998 and finished at the 2nd position.
  • Asia Cup, New Delhi (2nd) in the year 1999.
  • Olympic Qualifier, Milton Keynes (10th) in the very next year 2000.
  • World Cup Qualifier, Amiens/Abbeville in the year 2001. India finished at 7th position.
  • Champions Challenge held at Johannesburg in the year 2002. India finished up at the 3rd position.
  • Commonwealth Games held at Manchester in the year 2002. India came 1st in the tournament.
  • Asian Games at Busan in the year 2002. India finished at 4th position.
  • Afro-Asian Games, Hyderabad held in the year 2003 . India came 1st in the tournament.
  • Asia Cup, New Delhi in the year 2004. India finished at the 1st position.
  • In the Commonwealth Games held at Melbourne, India came 2nd in the tournament.
  • World Cup, Madrid in the year 2006. India finished in the 11th position.
