Eriodu is a small settlement and a panchayat town in Dindigul district of the southern state of India, Tamil Nadu. It is spread over an area of 15 sq. km. Vadamadurai is about eight kilometers in the northwest of Eriodu and Vedasandur is 13 km. northeast of Eriodu. The nearest airport is at Madurai and the nearest railway station is the Dindigul Junction Railway Station. By road, Eriodu can be reached from Dindigul.
As per the 2001 India census report, Eriodu had a population of 7866 inhabitants. Males constitute 51% of the population and females constitute 49% of the population. In Eriodu, 11% of the population is less than six years of age. Eriodu has an average literacy rate of 66%, which is much higher than the national average literacy rate of 59.5%. The literacy rate of the males is 76% while that of the females is 55%.
