`Akela` is a thriller by the CID maker, is based on a police officer who finds a way of communication with the dead.

Akela in Sudhangshu PandeyThe much admired soap Akela is a thriller by the maker of C.I.D. and is based on the life as a police officer who after recovering from the stage of coma for eight years finds a new way of communicating with the dead. The plot is all about the police officer Ranvir (played by Sudhangshu Pandey) and his gradual coming to terms with his powers.

The officer finds that he can see dead and it becomes the mission of his life thereafter to help them. It was indeed an out of the ordinary situation in which he found himself to be trapped in because sometimes the victims themselves refuse to accept that they are dead. He however makes an attempt of solving the issues using normal detective techniques and is also a mix of powers. Ranvir also has another advantage in his kitty, which is the network of his own informers like that of the police. He has dead people spread all across the city to help him out. In some of the occasions Ranvir sometimes gets cases from the people who expired. They seek aid from Ranvir in the form of support to find them their murderers.

On another level Akela is also a serial, which is based on the personal life of Ranvir where we see him, trying to pick up with his life in bits and pieces His life is almost non-existent now as the last eight years of sufferance in the stages of coma. His personal life also revolves around his suppressed obsession with Kinnari, his ex-fiancé who is now married to Dr. Rohit. In the midst of all these adverse situations in his life he decides to get back love in his life and this happens as well.

To an extent his ladylove also helps to bring love back in his life but Ranvir is unsure whether she is the one who is her ultimate destiny. The soap is altogether a drama based on ups and downs of relationships. Rohit however has his insecurities about Kinnari. However he along with Savio continues with their adventures by being the bridges of communication between the two completely different worlds.

Akela not only has a strong storyline based on a powerful concept but also has a brilliant starcast including Sudhanshu Pandey in the lead role, Sumeet Raghvan, Pankaj Dheer and Aashka Goradia. This soap was directed by Glenn and Ankush Mohla and produced by Mr. B.P. Singh and Mr. Pradeep Uppoor. The serial has always kept his viewers hooked on to the tube with its bizarre happenings. This weekly used to be broadcasted on every Saturday at 10p.m. such serials always add an extra xing besides the family dramas, which are aired on the small screen. It also makes the viewers craving for some more adventure to look forward in life.
