Supriya Pathak , Indian TV Actress
upriya Pathak is regarded as a brilliant actress in both the Indian Film Industry as well as the Indian tv industry.

Supriya PathakAfter a considerable break from the Indian film industry Supriya Pathak is back into the acting circuit with a bang and bagged quite a few awards for the comic character portrayalo of Hansa in the famous tele-soap `Khichdi`. This talented actress was born on 7th January in the year1961 and hails from a long line of performers. She is the daughter of the famous actress Dina Pathak who is very well know for playing the roles of mother and grandmother in the Bollywood flicks in the era of 1980s and 1990s. Her sister Ratna Pathak is also an actress and is married to the famous Bollywood actor Naseeruddin Shah. Supriya Pathak has also tied knot with another popular actor Pankaj Kapoor and her stepson is the famous Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor.

Supriya Pathak made her acting debut with the Bollywood film Kalyug in the year 1981. Then she was seen in major character portrayals in other Bollywood movies titled `Bazaar`, `Vijeta` and `Masoom`. She also won the Filmfare Awards for the Best Supporting Actress for her role in `Bazaar`. She was also seen in a brief character portrayal of Mahatma Gandhi`s niece in the award-winning film `Gandhi` which released in the year 1982. In 1988 she also starred in a French film `The Bengali Night` opposite Hugh Grant. In the early 1990s she took a break from the profession of acting. But in the long break her acting skills did not fade away and she made a major comeback with the film `Sarkaar` alongside with the Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachhan and his son Abhishek Bachhan. She also claims that the break from acting was necessary as soon after marriage she gave birth to her daughter and she did not want to deprive her of mother`s love. But coming back to acting is indeed proving to be a great experience for her. She has also carved out a special niche for herself in the hearts of the telly audiences with the popular portrayal of Hansa. In her family life also she seems to be a very contented person and likes to spend time with her husband and children when she is not busy shooting. She has already ventured into the arena of production and has produced two serials but at present she is busier in acting. She expects that her fans will continue to appreciate her work in the coming years and they in turn wishes her to scale the heights of success in the approaching times.
