In this district as per the observation of eminent anthropologists of Indian subcontinents, these Monsang tribes crowd in 5 villages including Sarei, Liwachaning, Heibunglok, Liwa Japhou, and Monsang Pantha. If one notices the name of the last village in the list, just given, one can easily derive the fact that the name Monsang has been taken from it.

These Monsang tribes love to call themselves as ` Sirti `or `southerners`, mainly speaking languages alike to that of other tribes of the region like Tangkhul, Marings, and Thadou. Languages spoken include Anals. Meiteilon or Manipuri.

Socio cultural norms too are quite ennobled as depicted in its plethora of festivals and joyful functions. Mainly agriculturists, many of them too have established trading expertise. For carrying out trading, these Lusai tribes are maintaining regular links. They make regular visits to marketplaces of Pallel, Kakching, Chandel and Imphal.
