Deomali is a small town situated in the Tirap district in the north eastern state of India,
Arunachal Pradesh. Khonsa, district headquarters of Tirap district is also situated in its north. . The town is well connected to other places of Arunachal Pradesh. Dibrugarh Airport is the nearest airport and the nearest railway stations are the Tinsukia Junction Railway Station and Naharkatia railway station.
According to the 2001 census report, Deomali has a small population of about 6060 inhabitants. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47% of the population. In Deomali, 17% of the population is less than six years of age. Deomali has an average literacy rate of 62%, which is higher than the national average literacy rate, which is 59.5%. The male literacy rate is 69% while the female literacy rate is 55%. In 2001, the Tirap Government College was shifted from Khonsa to Deomali.
In order to make the town a tourist destination the Government of Arunachal Pradesh has taken the initiative to set up an elephant reserve in Deomali.
