Bhind is located in its north, Gwalior in its west,
Shivpur in its south and the Jhansi district of Uttar Pradesh in the east. It has good railway connectivity as it is situated on the Western Central Railway line between Jhansi and Gwalior. It has a population of 627,818 according to the 2001 census report, inhabiting an area of 2,038 sq km.
