Chhindwara is a city in Chhindwara district in the state of Madhya Pradesh. The municipality looks after the local administration of the place. It is the administrative headquarters of the Chhindwara district and is situated on the Bodri stream, which is the tributary of the Kulbehra River. It occupies the heart of the Satpura valley and is bordered by low hill ranges. The capital city of Madhya Pradesh, Bhopal is around 220 Km. southeast of Chhindwara.
The city is well connected by road and railways. It is reachable by rail or road from adjacent cities like Nagpur and Jabalpur. Nagpur, which is, located 125 Km. from Chhindwara is the nearest airport. Chhindwara Junction Railway Station is a major railhead of South Eastern Madhya Pradesh. Betul is 100 Km. west of Chhindwara.
The town is located at latitude of 22.07° North and at longitude of 78.93° East.The topography is 675 metres (2214 feet) above mean sea level.
Well known for its scenic beauty and natural heritage ,the Hot Water Spring at Anhoni and the Radhadevi Caves attracts a lot of tourists every year.Patalkot, Tribal Museum ,Chota Mahadev cave ,Devagarh fort ,Nadadwari are the other tourist destinations.
