Zoo is located off Bailey Road in Patna. In the year 1973, this park was opened to the public. It is spread over a land of about 152.95 acres. This zoo provides shelter to about 800 animals
of about 110 species like elephants
, giraffe, etc and more than 300 species of trees

sighting opportunities. This zoo also draws visitors due to an aquarium which is the largest revenue creator of the zoo after the general admission fee. The aquarium serves as a home to about 35 species of fish

. This zoo and botanical garden has the distinction of being the first zoo in India to join World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA) in the year 2009. This zoo is spread over a land of about 400 ha or 990 acres.
