Thirudan Police is a traditional sport in Tamil Nadu
. Thirudan Police is also traditionally known as Kallan Police. It was well played in many villages and cities of Tamil Nadu.
Thirudan Police is played well in 2 different forms. One is played as indoor and another outdoor. It is a wonderful game played by rural children. This traditional game in South India will help one to have a guessing power, face reading skill, that get enhanced and they sustain the feeling of unity and oneness among the other players.
Requirement of Thirudan Police
To play Thirudan Police, which is locally known as Kallan Police, one need some simple things like a bit of paper of equal size, pen, four players. If this will be played in outdoor, the four players need to have an open ground.
Steps to play Thirudan Police
The four players need to follow some simple steps. The four players need four pieces of paper of equal size. They need to write the name of the characters. These are Raja Rani, Police and Thirudhan. These will be written on each paper bit. After that, all the four papers are folded in such a way that the text is inside the fold look similar. Four players need to sit together forming a circle. After that one player takes initiative and shuffles the folded papers in hand and throws it on ground. Then each player picks one paper and needs to see secretly what they got. The text written in the four papers should be kept secret and other players should not know what others got.
Then one of the four players who has got the name Police has to raise his hand and he is asked to find the player who has the character Thirudan. These characters have the own points. For instance, the King or the Raja has 10 points, Rani or the Queen has 5 points, where the Police and Thrudhan have 1 point each. If the guess is right, Police get one point, Thirudan will not get the point. The game goes in 5 to 10 rounds. The winner is the player who gets maximum points.
Thirudan Police as an Out door Game
Thirudan Police is also a simple game where the players form two groups, one group will be Police and the other group will be Thirudan, which is known as Thief. The thief or Thirudan will do some tomfoolery or take one toy and hide it and the police group will find the toy that the Thirudan group will hide and the police group will search them like Hide and Seek. It is influenced from the same concept of Thief and Police in real life.
