A visionary of girls` education, Sis Ram Ola is the Cabinet minister in the Ministry of Mines.

In the 14th Lok Sabha, Sis Ram Ola is the new Cabinet Minister in Ministry of Mines, in the Indian Parliament. He has elected from the Jhunjhunu constituency in Ardawata, District, Rajasthan. Sis Ram Ola by profession is an Agriculturist, Defence Services, Political & Social Worker. He is a member of the Indian National Congress.

Sis Ram Ola was born on 30th July 1927 to father Shri Choudhary Mangla Ram at Ardawata, Distt. Jhunjhunu (Rajasthan). He married Sheobai and the couple has two sons and one daughter.

Sis Ram Ola has held various important positions in his career. Sis Ram OlaIn 1952, as a social worker he started girls education in a remote area in rural Rajasthan with three girls. He named the school after Indira Gandhi "Indira Gandhi Balika Niketan Ardawata". His attempt was undoubtedly a result oriented one as it brought Jhunjhunu district, during 1952-96, to third place in literacy. He was conferred Padma Shree Award for social service in 1968.

This noted parliamentarian has also served several positions like, President, Bharat Krishak Samaj, Rajasthan; Honorary Recruiting Officer, 1948-65; Member, (i) Governing Body, All India Bharat Krishak Samaj; (ii) Rajasthan Soldiers Board; (iii) Rajasthan Mines and Minerals Advisory Board; (iv) High Power Committee of Defence Ministry for Ex-servicemen; (v) Board of Tourism; (vi) Rajasthan Shahid Samarak Samiti; (vii) Freedom Fighters` Assistance Committee; (viii) National Cadet Corps (N.C.C.) Advisory Board; (ix) Territorial Army Advisory Committee; (x) Rajasthan Desert Development Commission; (xi) Rajasthan Planning Board; (xii) State Sports Council; and (xiii) State Telephone Committee.
