The much talented actress Riva Bubber became a household name after her success in Kyunki Saans Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi under Balaji Productions.

For a short span Ravee Gupta abruptly replaced her but then again she was brought back as her face has already become a hit with the audience. She plays the role of the third-generation `bahu` or daughter-in-law of the industrialist Virani family. She started her career participating in some modeling campaigns like Cadburys, Ponds, Sunsilk and a few others. Her ads got her popularity and she soon earned both name and fame. It was at this time that Star Plus recommended her to the popular actress Neena Gupta. She developed a liking for her and did cast her in the soap Kyun Hota Hai Pyaar. She holds high regards for Neena Gupta as an artist and claims that she would never do a show just for the heck of doing it.

When she translates her thoughts into a particular show she makes it sure that it becomes a hit with the audience. About her project `Kyun Hota Hai Pyar` she claims that there is a particular audience for it as it is a serial targeted for the youth. People nowadays are not taking in the typical saans-bahu flicks so anybody who has been to college can identify himself or herself with this serial. She is also satisfied by the fact there is not vulgarity in this serial.

According to Riva Bubber `Kyunki` is not just a `saans-bahu` flick. It can rather be regarded as trendsetter. She is also amazed by the fact of the following that it has generated. She also thinks that the serial makers should be a bit innovative and should look beyond a bit in terms of subject matter and character portrayal. She also feels the innovativeness solely lacking in today`s soaps. Despite all the shortcomings this talented actress has carved out a niche for herself in the small screen.

Though the character of Ash was shown to be very dynamic in the serial `Kyun Hota Hai Pyar` still her portrayal of the character Nikki has touched the inner core of most hearts. She is a very levelheaded girl with her morals and ethics in place and despite peer pressure she safeguards her values. It is not only the teenyboppers but also the grown-ups as well who favor the character. In fact her character became so popular that several elderly people would recognize her on the road and come up to her expressing their love remarking that they have a daughter like her. But her reel life is far different from her real life except in some ways. She was also like Nikki when she was in college and kept herself to few friends. But unlike Nikki`s attire she rarely used to wear salwar suits. She also admits that portraying Ash`s role wouldn`t have been a cakewalk for her because she does not carry that kind of arrogant attitude in life.

But the major turning point in her career came with `Kyunki`. At the same time she was offered two serials, namely, Kya Hadsa Kya Haqeeqat as well as Kyunki. But when she discussed with Ekta Kapoor about the dilemna, Ekta suggested that she should take up `Kyunki`. In the middle of `Kyunki` she was ousted in a few episodes because of date problems and also because she did not agree to portray a negative character along with a positive character which she was already portraying in the role of Nikki. She also could not identify with the change that was taking in the character of Damini in `Kyunki`. She could not digest the amount of negativity and it was too drastic for her. She herself wanted the character to be a bit subtler. But her character was so popular with the audience that Balaji had to bring her back in the show. For her it is really difficult to answer which serial is dearer.

According to her `Kyunki` is totally dominated by one individual and that is Tulsi and the other characters mainly revolve around her where on the other hand Kyun Hota Hai Pyar was her baby even though lesser people watch it. This talented actress has also appeared in other Balaji projects like she played a cameo in Ekta Kapoor`s Kkavyanjali, which used to be aired on Star Plus and as Smriti in K. Street Palli Hill also under the Balaji Productions.

In another popular serial, Ayushmaan which used to aired on Sony TV she used to play Ayushmaan`s wife. She also did a story for Raat Hane Ka Hai for Sahara TV and also a few episodes for Krishna Arjun. But Riva Bubber asserted with an iron determination not to participate in any bold scenes ever. She is quite a prude in this matter. She also feels that she is a spontaneous actress and expects her directors to give her a bit of liberty in the way she enacts the scenes. She is such a perfectionist in her work that sometimes when the directors approve a scene, she tells them that she could perform the particular scene even better and asks for a retake.

Riva Bubber is one of those few actresses who do not feel like getting into films as according to her films are not her cup of tea. She believes that TV works are extremely taxing but at the same time it also gives a high, which the films cannot. She has received quite a few offers from the film industry but has turned them down. She remarked that she does have respect for the film industry but not the inclination. She knows that her future lies in the television industry and not doing the meaty roles offered to her in the film industry. She has also signed up another soap with the Balaji Telefilms titled as Koi Aa Raha Waqt Badalne.

In this serial she is casted along with Siddharth Chowdhary, the Close-up ad guy and the immensely talented actor Anupam Kher. In the initial episodes she will play the role of a best friend of Siddharth but in the later stages the audience will her involve in a romantic saga. Today this talented actress is the first choice of all the ad agencies. All her ad campaigns including the Cadbury`s, Ponds, Camlin, Rin, Pantene, Maruti, Johnson & Johnson, BPL stands testimony to this fact. She was not a part of various ad campaigns but also done music videos for albums of Asha Bhosle, Bali Brahmabhatt and Hisham Abbas. This beautiful actress is a very satisfied individual. She is a die-hard animal lover and loves her dogs very much. She has two cocker spaniels names Benji and Bijou and recently also opened a dog salon called Wizard of Pawa in Andheri which is located in Mumbai. Her fans however are of the belief that this versatile actress will go a long way in her acting career and sincerely wishes that she gets her due credit for all the roles she enacts.
