Prem Chand Gupta, an industrialist by profession understood the challenges several years ago even before he entered politics, and this made him determined to bring about a revolution in corporate world. He gave his first priority in this task to bring about change in the present company ethics through suitable amendments. He is an elected Member of
Parliament and is a member of the Rashtriya Janata Dal representing the state of
Bihar in the
Rajya Sabha.

This industrialist was born on 3rd Fevruary, 1950 to Shri N.R.Gupta and Late Shrimati Shanti Devi at Bhiwani (
Haryana). He is a graduate in Economics studied at Vaish College, Bhiwani, D.N.College, Hissar and has also been the Faculty of Law in Delhi University. On 2nd December 1972, he married Sarla Gupta and of whom he has one Daughter and two sons.
He is a vegetarian, prefers mostly to have simple homemade food. He considers
Laloo Prasad Yadav as his inspiration and role model in politics. Prem Chand Gupta is actively engaged in promotion of education, social work and cultural development. He is a committed person to social development and uplift of the backward classes that made an imprinted impression. He has participated in various conferences and seminars in India and abroad and was elected to the National General Secretary of Rashtriya Janata Dal in 2000 and re-elected in 2001. He has also been the President of Rashtriya Vaish Parishad Social upliftment, politics, industry, commerce, economics and current affairs.
As a politician in April 1996, he was elected to Rajya Sabha 1996-98 and became the convener of the Sub-Committee on Non-Conventional Energy. He has also served as the member of the Committee of Privileges Member, Committee on Energy Member, Board of Environment and Forests; member of Hindi Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas; member of Committee on Transport and Tourism including Civil Aviation and Ports during 1998-99 and 2001 - May 2004.
During 1999-2001, he has been the member of Committee on Finance Member, Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Communications. He was the member of Committee on Commerce 1999-2002 Member, Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Civil Aviation Convener, Sub-Committee on Commerce and Supply of the Committee on Commerce 2000-2001 Convenor, Sub-Committee on Air India of Ministry of Civil Aviation2000-2002, member, Joint Parliamentary Committee on Stock Market Scam. On April 2002, he was re-elected to Rajya Sabha. May 2004 onwards, he serves as the Minister of State (Independent charge) for Company Affairs.
