. In the serial Neena Gupta played the character of Manno Bhabhi who is the mother of Abhi a guy of mid twenty. Later she was seen in other Hindi serials like Kitani Mohabbat Hain and Ladies Special.

Neena Gupta had also been part of various films. She grabbed the opportunity to work with some of the best known art film directors in India. Suraj ka Satvan Ghoda, Mandi, Utsav, Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron, Veer, etc. More than a decade ago this brilliant actress had no celebrity standing. One of her greatest achievement was to win a National Award in the year 1999 as the best supporting actress for the film "Who Chokdi", a film by Shyam Benegal
. Recently the veteran actress has been a part of a Bengali movie named "Devi" directed by Abhijit Dasgupta but her experience to be a part of the Bengali cinema has been very taxing. She has also appeared in international films like Gandhi in the year 1982, The Deceivers in 1988 and Cotton Mary in the year 1999. It is true that Gupta has studied in a Bengali school in Delhi but because she does not use the language on a daily basis she has to walk an extra mile in order to use the language correctly. But it is indeed one of the best roles of her life.
