Manasi Joshi Roy is believed to be a very strong performer on the small screen and has shot to limelight with her powerful performance in the popular K-series soap Kkusum that used to be aired on Sony Television. Over here she played the role of the female lead and had to face end number of adversities throughout her life. She worked in this serial for over a year and then was replaced by Shilpa Saklani. She was mostly acclaimed for her role in Saaya before she took a break from television.
She had played a very strong protagonist in Saaya and held the center-stage. Following that she did not want to do anything fluffy. She agreed to work in "kkusum` only after being assured that the character will do many interesting things there on after she makes her entry into it. After her husband, the very popular actor of the small screen Rohit Roy insisted she agreed to portray the role. She devoted maximum amount of time in the serial `Kkusum` and was also happy about the remuneration part. Prior to that Balaji Telefilms also offered her Karvachauth but she refused the role. Soon after her marriage she was also offered Ghar Ek Mandir but she refused that role even as she required a much-needed break after marriage. Portraying the main protagonist was very tough because there were a lot of expectations from her.
Manasi Joshi Roy believes in being both a method actress and a spontaneous one at the same time. She also played significant role in the comedy Gharwali Uparwali that demands great spontaneity from the actor. Her spontaneity is a result of her dedicated effort and she does that too well. Her dad Arvind Joshi being a writer and director in Gujrati Theater and her mom being an actress herself has helped her a lot in her work. Her brother too is an established actor. So it can be easily concluded that acting was in her genes. She did her first professional play also under her father`s direction while she was still in her college. That is also one of the reasons why she never had to join a professional course in acting.
After she completed her graduation in Psychology she started getting a lot of offers from films and modeling. She toyed with the idea of joining the film industry at that time but then went ahead and chose acting as her professional career. In the year 1995 she was asked to host a show called Bol Bollywood. Later he did the play All The Best by Feroz Khan, which went on to become a smash, hit. And then came Gaatha and Saaya on her way. Then she took a much-needed break after the birth of her daughter. When she made a comeback she did not feel that there was a vast change in the television industry except for the speed.
According to her earlier the market was full of weeklies but recently it is full of dailies. He feels that there should be a bit left in the channels for constant experimentation. She would also like to direct a show in the near future. In acting terms also she wants to enact a role, which she can relate well and not something, which she has to do just for the sake of it. This talented actress is loved by her fans and is expected to rise as an actor in the years to come.
