| Kunal Kapoor , Bollywood Actor
| |
| Kunal Kapoor, the famous Bollywood actor has carved out a special niche for himself in the hearts of his fans by his role in Rang De Basanti. This extremely talented actor was born on 18th October 1975 and was brought up in the tinsel town. He studied in the stream of science till 12th standard from Mithibai College and then shifted to commerce in the course of his graduation. After completing his graduation he did a course in export management.
His journey with cinema began as an assistant director to Rakesh Mehra in the movie Aks starring the Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachhan. Soon after this the acting bug bit him and he found himself moving on with his acting career. He made a most unconventional debut with the film Meenaxi directed by M.F.Hussain. The critically acclaimed actor thereafter took things in his own way and got himself associated with the theater group of Naseeruddin Shah. But the turning point in his career was marked with the film Rang De Basanti. Not only his character of Aslam in this film was a huge hit but it had also given him a much wider fan following than he had before. He is in fact enjoying all the acclaim that is coming to him post `Rang De Basanti`. His other film Hattrick did not create waves in the box office but was labeled as a moderate hit.
Offscreen Kunal Kapoor is extremely restless. He remarked in a recent interview that there was a phase in his life when he could not even sit at one place and eat. He shares a keen interest in reading and writing and another trait, which has always been with him, is that of being rebellious.
He hates to accept things just because it has to be done in a particular way. He also believes himself to be an eternal romanticist and likes to romanticize everything in life. If he had not been acting then he would have definitely chosen a career, which involves lot of traveling. He is a bit of gypsy by nature and hates staying in one place. Besides being restless he has achieved a sense of achievement and the hunger to move ahead at the same time. That is the reason that he has tasted success at such an early point in his life. He does not idolize anybody in his life but his favorite actress is Rani Mukherjee. He claims that he has learnt a lot from his directors and referred to M.F.Hussain as a rock star because even at the age of 90 he is more enthusiastic than people quarter his age.
The dream role in his life remains to be any role from the Bollywood blockbuster Sholay. In his personal life he is still single but prefers to portray himself as engages because he declares that he has multiple personalities of himself for company. He believes to have as much of fun as possible in life as it is unpredictably short. He believes that as an actor his efforts should be directed towards the intent of the film. He also claims that he has chosen this career to portray himself in all the characters possible and his huge fan following would love to see him emerge as a complete actor in the years to come.
