Early Indian Cricket Players
In the 1900s the Indian Cricket players to get noticed in the international level was His Highness, Ranjit Singhji, and Duleep Singhji. The
Ranji Trophy and the
Duleep Trophy were named after them. The Indian team made its presence felt in the International cricket in the MCC tour from 1926 October to 1927 February, with C K Nayadu excelling with his bat. The team played some outstanding innings during the tour.

BCCI is the national governing body for cricket in India, with its headquarters in
Mumbai. Formed in 1928, it is registered under the
Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act. Affiliated under the International Cricket Council (ICC) it plays a pivotal role in the selection of umpires, players and officials for international matches.
