Divya Dutt is a fine actress who made her mark in the hearts of the audiences by her selected performances in few Bollywood movies. She is born to a family of doctors on 25th September. She is a Punjabi by caste and also admits the fact that after shifting to Mumbai the Punjabi has improved and she also took training for three days to get the Veer-Zaara accent. She completed her graduation in English Honours and Psychology.

Among her favorite holiday destination is Europe and the place where she would like to go over and over again is Burma, which according to her is famous for its exotic and raw locations. The audience for dubbing the voice of Lisa Ray in the bold story of Kasoor in the year 2001 first recognized her. After ten years of hard toil in the Bollywood film industry she ultimately gained popularity for her work in the very popular movie Veer-Zaara. Divya Dutt made her entry into Bollywood when Madhuri Dixit and Juhi Chawla were occupying the top slots and Karishma Kapoor and Manisha Koirala were counted among the top actresses. She joined the film industry with the thought to be a part of the top clan one fine day. In fact she has been acting ever since she was a kid. She was also selected in a Star Dust talent hunt contest out of 45,000 thousand people who participated in the contest. She remarks that they both are naughty brats on the sets and that she is the most understanding and sweet co-star she has ever worked with. She does not believe in being over glamorous and exposing until and unless the character of the film demands it. But in the recent past she is also said to turn down one movie offer because she was required to expose more than she is comfortable with. She is humongously talented as an actress can be and has done quite a few movies in what one calls `parallel cinema`. She is already enjoying her work and has no plans of marriage now although she is already engaged with her boyfriend Lt. Commander Sandeep in her hometown, Chandigarh.

In the initial stages her affair was all about fun and enjoyment but later on they felt it started to happen between them and she also came to the conclusion that Sandeep would be her ideal life companion. She also admitted in one of the interviews that the engagement was the outcome of a bit of parental pressure from both sides. Post marriage she plans to settle down with her husband in the tinsel town.

The professional life of Divya Dutta is moving pretty well post engagement and the film directors are approaching her with tailor-made roles. The actress is looking forward to her forthcoming films mainly `Kahani Gudiya Ki` by Prabhakar Shukla, which is based on a real life story. This is a story about a simple village girl whose happily married life with her second husband comes to an end after her first husband who was believed to have been died four years ago came back in her life. She has also signed a film by Ram Gopal Varma titles `Mr. Ya Miss`. She is also doing a lot of comedy right now after her serial Shanno Ki Shaadi in which she was playing the lead became a superhit. In this serial she belongs to a simple Punjabi Halwaai family and is the epitome of simplicity with her old-fashioned salwar suits and plaited oily hair. Her fundamental talent lies in making various sorts of sumptuous delicacies, which are simply out of the world. But the turning point in her life comes when Arjun, a NRI comes to India to search for a bride and falls in love with her. She is really enjoying the show and very happy about it as the audience are really appreciating her work. After so much of comedy she wants to do some romantic stuffs.

Her forth coming movies are Darwaza Bandh Rakhho with Ramgopal Varma, an untitled movie by Shyam Benegal, Gurdaas Mann`s Punjabi film Waris Shah, Sahib Chai Pani and another one called Trisha by N. Kamatk. The last is a film, which deals with the subject of baby selling. It involves a doctor`s racket which gets poor couples into the business of selling their babies. In the film `Sahib Chai Pani` the actress is working with Itfan Khan, another natural actor. She also remarked in an interview that she was very much impressed by his eyes. Having worked with him she feels that he is very innovative and always comes up with something interesting suddenly during a shot and for a co-actor to match up with that becomes quite a challenge and the other is geared up with excitement. She loves item numbers even and would like to do one herself. The personal mantra of survival in the glamorous world of films according to this talented actress is to be strong and believe in oneself and also to have patience and faith in the Almighty.
