Damnagar is a census town situated in the Amreli district in the state of Gujarat in India. Precisely, the town is located at 21.7° North and 71.52° East. It has an average elevation of 136 meters (446 feet). The census records of 2001 shows that the town of Damnagar has a population of 16,714, inclusive of 53% males, 47% females and 14% children less than six years of age. With a male literacy of 73% and a female literacy of 59%, the town records an average literacy rate of 66%. This is higher than the national average of 59.5%.
