Cheppad is a beautiful village in Alleppy district (presently called Alappuzha) in the southern state of Kerala

Cheppad is a stunning village located at the Alleppy district in the southern state of Kerala It is located 45 Km north of Kollam and is about mid-way between Kochi and Thiruvananathapuram on NH 47.It falls under Karthikapally taluka. This beautiful village has a good network of railways and airways, which facilitates communication. The nearest railway station is the Kayamkulam railway station and is a junction. The nearest airport is the Cochin International Airport.

The Hindus dominate the village and the Christian community is the second largest community in the village. Agriculture is the main occupation of the villagers. Arecanut , cardamom, sugar and pepper are the important crops grown here.

Cheppad ChurchThe village has a well-known church, which is the major attraction of the place. It is the Orthodox Syrian Christian Church popularly known as Cheppad Church. Dedicated to St George, this church has porches and portico built in the style of typical Hindu temples. With mural paintings and woodcarvings, this church attracts a large number of devotees. Vettikkulangara Bhagavathy Temple, noted for its wooden sculptures, is another attraction of Cheppad.
