In Amravati district in the state of Maharastra ,Chandur is a city and municipal town. It is located at 19.73° N 79.18° E and an average elevation of 231 metres (757 feet). According to the 2001 Indian census Chandur had a population of about 17,720 where males constitute 52% of the population and female population is 48%.I2% of the population is under six years of age .Statistically ,it is quite high in terms of literacy with 77%whereas the national average is 59.5%.Male literacy is 82% and female literacy is 72% of the population.
