| In the North 24 Parganas district in the state of West Bengal, Chandpur is a census town under Ghola police station with its sub divisional headquarters at Barrackpore. It is located at 22.52° N 88.12° E with average elevation of six metres (19 feet).
According to 2001 census Chandpur had a population of about 8843 .Males comprises of 51% of the population while females consist of 49% of the population .Chandpur has a literacy rate of about 68% which is higher than the national standard of 59.5% .The male literacy rate is 74% and the female literacy rate is 61% .12% of the population is below six years.
