She is also known to be an accomplished actress and dancer of her ages. She epitomized as a vamp and as a dancer in the 1960s and 1970s. She has acted in about more than 300 Hindi movies and has been recognized all across the nation for her exceptional performances in both positive and negative portrayals. The noted film producer and director Indra Kumar is her brother and the renowned film director Kuku Kohli is her husband.

Film Career of Aruna Irani
Aruna Irani started her journey to stardom as a child actor in the film Ganga Jamuna in the year 1961. In the mid sixties she completely transformed her image into those of coquettish vamps providing with outstanding dance numbers. She graduated to portraying supporting roles in films which also won her many unforgettable characters. She paired with the comedian Mehmood in movies like Aulad (1968), Humjoli (1970), and Naya Zamana (1971). The actor later offered Irani lead roles in movies like Bombay To Goa (1972), Garam Masala (1972), and Do Phool (1973). She has acted with almost all notable actors and actresses of Bollywood like, Jeetendra, Rishi Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Rajesh Khanna, Dimple Kapadia, Sanjay Dutt, Shahrukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit and many others. Among her movies the most memorable has been her portrayal of the character of a gypsy girl in the blockbuster hit movie Carvaan.

As a producer also she played a brilliant role by producing films like Anari No. 1 starring Govinda and Raveena Tandon which went to become a raging hit. She produced another movie Yeh dil Aashiqana. Next as a director she debuted on television in the much popular serial Des Mein Nikla Hoga Chand. She next went on to produce many serials like Mehndi Tere Naam Ki, Rabba Ishq Na Hove, Vaidehi...Ek Aur Agni Pareeksha and many more.
