None can forget the character of `Circuit` in the Munnabhai series. The role was played by one of the most versatile actors of the
Bollywood Film Industry known as Arshad Warsi. Born on 19th April in the year 1969, this Indian actor has been brought up in the tinsel town. He started as a choreographer. His good friend and director Joy Augustine coaxed Arshad to try his luck in acting. At this time ABCL was coming out with their first film and was looking out for fresh faces for the character portrayal of `Balu` in the film Tere Mere Sapne. His passion lied in acting. So he went for the auditions and made his acting debut in the film Tere Mere Sapne in the year 1996 alongside with another popular actor Chandrachur Singh but this film could not hit the pinnacle in the movie ratings. But the audiences and critics appreciated his performance as an actor.
Over the next few years he acted in a score of movies but could not achieve major success. The movie Hogi Pyar Ki Jeet came to him somewhat as a saving grace. Though the film did not rock the box office he was noted for his excellent comedy timing and despite the heavy presence of the other star Ajay Devgan throughout the film, his work was highly appreciated both by his fans and critics. After this film again a series of flops followed with the names like Aye Watan Tere Liye, Mujhey Meri Biwi Se Bachao and Jeetenge Hum.

The turning point in his career came in the year 2003 when his portrayal of the character of Circuit in the popular Bollywood flick Munnabhai MBBS. He actually ignited the box-office with his superb performance in this chartbuster. It is after this movie that a string of big banner movies followed and Arshad Warsi was seen in all the names like Hulchul, Chocolate,
Salaam Namaste, Kisse Pyar Karoon, Yun Hota Toh Kya Hota and
Lage Raho Munnabhai. The last movie also won him many popular awards and is also regarded as a `modern day classic`.
Arshad Warsi has also done a number of projects on the small screen. He hosted a

popular award show titled on the channel Star Gold for a span of three years. He also hosted another popular show called Filmy Stock Exchange on the Filmy Channel of
Sahara One. He made a guest appearance in the popular teen show called Remix in the channel Star One. In this serial he appeared to promote his movie Kuch Meetha Ho Jaye. He hosted the popular show Big Boss that was a replica of the international show of Big Brother on the Sony Television channel. This show was a huge hit in the Indian subcontinent and made him a huge star. He is a kind of star with whom all the movie stars would like to work. Unassuming and friendly, the actor seems to be a great person to work and hang around with. He is known for portraying different roles in the various movies.

The roles are so varied from each other that the actor himself declares he has developed as an actor. In the film Kuch Meetha Ho Jaye he plays an airport manager who wasn`t able to tell his girl how much he loves her. On the other hand in Salaam Namaste he portrays the character of an architect who is a very sober guy and has got everything set in life except his marriage. Again he plays the role of a computer hacker and enjoys the thrill that flows through the entire movie. In Rokda again he plays a correct guy who goes wrong and according to him it is a very complicated character. Again in Seher he plays a cop who barely talks and smiles.
At present he is taking up offers, which has good scripts and sounds good to him. If tomorrow he gets the offer of a good film that has the same kind of character he would definitely go for it unlike other artists who finds it monotonous to portray different roles. He likes doing comedy and he knows that people enjoy watching him do comedy. He has no problem doing it. In fact to him enacting a comic role after two or three serious movies is like a vacation for him.
He is also very comfortable with his co-stars and shares a good rapport with each one of them. When asked him whether he would like to take up choreography again he remarks that he has been asked to do it in every film. He also adds he will do choreography if he himself is dancing in it and not for anybody else. Even in Salaam Namaste he was asked to choreograph a song but he had date problems.
In his personal life also Arshad Warsi is a very happy man. He is married to the popular
MTV Veejay Maria Goretti on 14th February in the year 1999. They have a son who is named Zeke Zidan Warsi. Both his wife and son had a blink and miss appearance in the chartbuster under Yash Raj Productions called Salaam Namaste which stars
Saif Ali Khan and Preity Zinta. In the Arabic the name of his son signifies `memory of God` and in Aramic it means a `shooting star`. Not that his son is born and he has grown to be more matured he is very selective about his films but not because his son will watch them after a few years but only because he wants to do roles which will bring in him creative satisfaction.
The popularity of Arshad Warsi is not only limited to his acting career but also because he is a nice human being. His fan following sincerely wishes that this extremely talented actor would rise to the pinnacle of the Indian Film Industry in a span of few years.
