| Anup Soni
| |
| Anup Soni first shot to limelight with serials like Sea Hawks and Saaya. In the year 2001 he took a short sabbatical and ventured out to procure roles in the film industry but unable to benefit on a grand scale he came back to television. He had also been a faculty in the Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting School ten years for a span of one year and a half and used to take voice and speech classes.
He had students like Apoorva Agnihotri, Priya Gill, Manish Goyal, Akshaye Khanna and Shabad Khan. He gained major popularity as an ACP CID-Special Bureau, which was aired on Sony Television. He is the product of National School of Drama. This talented actor has a number of hit shows like `Sea Hawks` and `Shanti`. Apart from these he has a couple of films like `Godmother` and `Tathastu` to his credit. He does not believe in judging the role by the nature of the work. If he finds the character interesting he takes up the work. According to him the medium in which one works is not really necessary as the reach of both the mediums is almost equal. On a personal level he definitely looks for good roles and good work. He is also of the firm belief that a way one looks on television matters a lot and also helps to some extent in securing good roles.
In his personal life also Anup Soni is a very happy and contented man. He is happily married to Ritu Soni who is a management graduate from Symbiosis, Pune and has set up her own software company. In his professional life also shares a very cordial relation with her co-stars and his producer and creative director Ekta Kapoor. He shares a very professional relation with the later and has been associated with her since a long time.
Earlier he was also offered the role of Mihir Virani in `Kyunki` but he could not accept it because that at that point time he was focusing his whole concentration in building up his film career but unfortunately things did not work in his favor. He also rejected the role played by Manish Goel in the afternoon soap `Bhabhi`. At last he accepted the role of Suyesh Mehra in the very popular soap `Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki`. He claims that it has not been an easy decision for him to step into the shows of such an experienced actor like Mohnish Behl but a few months down the line the actor has not only done full justice to the role but has also earned good reviews for his performance. The films that he has worked on have not clicked well in the box-office.
The last release of his was `Tathastu` which did not create much waves in the box-office. His forthcoming film is `Tarkash` in which Suchitra Pillai has been casted opposite him. It is all about male chauvinism and is produced and director by actor Kamal Sadnah. For the next few years this actor wants to concentrate fully on acting and after that he may venture into direction. He claims that offers do keep pouring in and in the near future he would also like to try his hands in comedy. In the industry he has very few friends, among them Salil Ankola and Madhavan are very close to him. He is also a total gizmo freak and has almost everything that is available in the market, right from a laptop to palmtop and an I-pod. His fans definitely prays that in the coming years he will have much more in his kitty to please the audience with and to reach the summit.
