Deity of Trkkavu Temple Goddess Durga, the presiding deity of Thrikkavu Sri Durga Bhagavathy Temple is adorned with four hands here. She is seen holding a Chakra (disc), Sankha (conch), Varada (in a boon conferring pose) and katibadha (arm rest in the hip). The devotees believe that Thrikkavu Bhagavathy is "Sarvabeeshtapradhayini" i.e. one who grants all wishes. The Bhagavathy is worshipped in two different forms Goddess Durga and Goddess Saraswati. Besides the main there are other temples located within the premises like the Krishna temple and Upa Devatha temples for Mahaganapathi, Sasthavu, Sidhi Vinayakan, Lord Hanuman and Brahma Rakshass. There is also a Moola Ganapathy Temple near the pond (Kshetrakulam) along with Naga Raja, Naga Yakshi and Naga pratishtas. The temple celebrates many festivals among which the main festival is Navaratri. The festival attracts large number of devotees from far off places. The Vidyarambham i.e. beginning of formal education is conducted on the Vijayadasami day of Navaratri utsavam.
